AGHCA will hold its annual RECEPTION this coming Monday, August 16 (rain date August 17), starting at 5 p.m., at the Vanderhoop Homestead (on the Aquinnah Circle at the Head of the Cliffs).  Ample free parking will be available in the adjoining Town parking lot.

Our speaker this year will be Aquinnah resident Richard Skidmore, who will talk about the Gay Head Lighthouse – its fascinating past, its present role, and the issues it faces, in particular regarding its fragile, eroding grounds.  Richard and his wife, Joan LeLacheur, have been deeply involved in the operation and conservation of the Light for many years.  This promises to be a fascinating evening.

The Reception will be free of charge (although donations to help defray its costs will be cheerfully accepted.)  Wine and cheese will be provided (but it also will be appreciated if you bring some hot weather finger foods).

For planning purposes, it would be appreciated if you RSVP – either by e-mailing ( us (please provide your name, number of people attending, telephone contact number) or by calling 508-645-9630.

We look forward to seeing you on August 16!!
